employ
diminuendo
so as to
quietly become
our aspirations
softly blown
apart then kind
of reassembled
in a sideways night breeze
sounding out the pulses
from the other's
blood & then
another's being
here let's say
as star & background
to these old
embroidered rhythms
or could it be the news
that's made a ring
around the sky
or bath or mouth
& one of this big
moon's two vowels
keeps getting eaten
by a lion
or a vast nocturnal
starfish or
a rabid dog
in a rancid wig
who's never even
heard those songs
